Racing History
Under sail Cool Change is a well balanced boat and responds to the 10 to 20 knot winds regularly found on Sydney Harbour.
When purchased, the boat was not set up for spinnaker racing and it is the current owner’s belief, previous owners were limited to “cruising” the boat. As previously stated, improvements were needed to be made to have the boat ready to race in both twilight and spinnaker racing.
Racing started in the 2002/3 season and Cool Changed achieved the following race results
Raced in Greenwich Flying Squadron and
Won the Saturday afternoon 2004/5 Division 2 Autumn series
Runner up in the 2004/5 Twilight White division Spring series
Winner of the RSYS 2006 Australian Day Regatta – Non Spinnaker division and the Australia Day Cup!!
Racing discontinued in 2007 due to shortage of crew and engine issues (now addressed)
It is the owner’s belief that with a more experienced helmsman (not on who grew up in the country) and experienced crew, Cool Change can be very competitive in both twilight and club races.
